Our POPIA Commitment
Debt Relief Hub is fully committed to compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA). We process your personal information lawfully, fairly, and transparently for the specific purpose of facilitating credit rehabilitation services.
1. Who We Are (Responsible Party)
Debt Relief Hub is the responsible party for the purposes of POPIA. We determine the purpose and means of processing your personal information in connection with the debt rehabilitation services we facilitate.

We process personal information under the following lawful grounds:
- Consent — by submitting our qualification form, you consent to us processing your information to assess and facilitate your debt rehabilitation.
- Contract — to fulfil our service obligations where a formal engagement exists.
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable South African law.
4. Special Personal Information
In certain cases, we may collect special personal information such as your South African ID number and financial information. This is collected solely for the purpose of your debt rehabilitation assessment and is shared only with our NCR-registered debt counsellor partners as required to deliver the service.
5. Trans-Border Information Flows
Your personal data is not transferred outside the borders of South Africa. All data is stored and processed within South African jurisdiction.
6. Your Rights Under POPIA
- Right of access — you may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Right to correction — you may request that inaccurate information be corrected or completed.
- Right to deletion — you may request deletion of your data where we no longer have a lawful basis to retain it.
- Right to object — you may object to us processing your personal information in certain circumstances.
- Right to lodge a complaint — you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
